A summer of fun!
I can’t believe that it’s September and we are about to start back for the Autumn Term! What a great summer it has been though here at Dance Dynamic. We’ve had two brilliantly fun toddler workshops and our Movies & Musicals Summer School, not to mention my Monday evening adult summer classes.
Princesses, Superheroes and a Beach Party
It seems a long time ago now that I welcomed lots of excited toddlers to the Curzon Centre for our Superheroes & Princesses workshop and Melody Bear’s Beach Party. Each workshop was 2 hours of dancing, games, arts & crafts and dressing up! I think my teaching assistant Charlie and I had just as much fun as the children! I was so proud of all the children for everything they achieved and for the demonstrations they put on at the end for their proud parents who were watching. We even got them up showing us their best surfing moves!
Movies & Musicals Summer School
What an action-packed 3 days we had at summer school this year; I was amazed how much the children learnt! We sang, danced and acted our way through some of the best bits of Toy Story, Moana, Beauty and the Beast, Matilda, Hairspray, Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland! Phew! Somehow we even found time to do some arts and crafts! I think the parents were equally amazed at what had been achieved and I am delighted at the positive feedback I have had since.
It was lovely to welcome so many new children as well as some Dance Dynamic regulars. They really fitted in well and it would be lovely to see lots of the children building on the skills they have learnt by coming along to our regular Monday evening Musical Theatre class. It really is the perfect class for building your confidence and working on your all round performing arts skills.
The summer workshops may be over, but the good news is the children won’t have to wait until next summer to do it all again as I will be holding Halloween workshops in the October half term! Details will be released shortly, but get working on those fiendishly fabulous costumes!
Adult Classes
It was great to see so many of my adults coming along over the summer to my Tap and Ballet classes. It was a great opportunity to go through show dances and break down some of the trickier steps. The dances were really looking good and I can’t wait to get back and polish them a little more!
So looking ahead to the Autumn term and we certainly have an exciting one ahead with our show in October! Now the question is - can I remember all my choreography for the dances…..!?!
